Nithya Raman reduces Spencer Pratt's lead in the race to reach the November 3 runoff

Los Angeles City Councilman Nithya Raman has closed in on reality TV personality Spencer Pratt, narrowing his lead to about 3 percentage points as the two compete for second place in the mayoral primary, according to the latest results released Friday.

Raman has been steadily gaining ground on Pratt's sideline over three days of election updates. She now trails him by 20,672 votes in the race to run against Mayor Karen Bass in the Nov. 3 runoff election.

Unless a mayoral candidate wins a majority of the votes, the top two face each other in a runoff.

Bass, who is running for a second four-year term, was in first place on election night and has held his position since. Friday's update showed her with 35% of the vote, compared to Pratt's 28% and Raman's 25%.

County election officials will continue to accept mail-in ballots postmarked by Election Day through Tuesday. The county plans to release updated results every day through June 12.

After that, updates will be more sporadic.

Of the nine City Council incumbents seeking re-election this year, Bass is the only one to advance to a second round. City lawyer. Hydee Feldstein Soto did not make it to the second round, falling behind the deputy prosecutor. Gen. Marissa Roy and District Deputy. Lawyer. John McKinney.

In an email sent to supporters Friday, Feldstein Soto said the voters had spoken. “Respecting the voice of the people is the heart of our democracy,” he wrote.

City Comptroller Kenneth Mejia easily fended off a challenge from real estate executive Zach Sokoloff, whose campaign was bolstered by $7.5 million in outside spending from his mother.

A half-dozen council members also won re-election. Of the six, Councilwoman Eunisses Hernández had the most competitive, facing four rivals. He declared victory Friday in an Instagram post, thanking volunteers, supporters and neighbors who helped his campaign.

“Together we win another mandate for our community and our movement,” he wrote.

Hernandez currently has 54% of the vote, according to Friday's update.
