Prince Harry apparently mocked Elon Musk for instigating propaganda on social media.
The Duke of Sussex met Meghan Markle at a Responsible Digital Future Summit in Colombia this week, where he discussed how online hate carries over into real life.
According to the Mirror, Harry reportedly criticised Elon Musk for his far-right views on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Harry said: “What happens online in a matter of minutes is carried out onto the streets. People act on information that is not true.
“It is up to all of us to distinguish between truth and falsehood. In an ideal world, those in positions of influence would take more responsibility. We are no longer debating facts. As long as people are allowed to spread lies, insult and harass, social cohesion as we know it will have completely broken down.”
Meanwhile, Meghan added: “We must be role models for how we want our children to be raised and the world we raise them in.
“It doesn't matter where you live or who you are. You or someone you know is a victim of what happens on the Internet. And that's something we can actively work to remedy every day,” she said.
