Following the successful creation of ChatGPT, OpenAI has announced its new Artificial Intelligence model, SearchGPT.

This new invention from OpenAI may pose a challenge to Google and its long-standing search engine. Since the launch of ChatGPT in 2022, investors have been concerned that this could take away market share from Google.

Moreover, this AI search engine is in its prototype testing phase and only 10,000 test users have access at the time of launch. This new invention is powered by the GPT-4 model family.

The text input indicator of this model is similar to the previous invention, ChatGPT.

However, with SearchGPT, users can type a search message and brief information is provided with the sources. It allows users to access more details by following the links provided.

Additionally, along with information and sources, it supports visual results such as images, videos, and charts.

In a blog post, the company emphasized that SearchGPT was developed in collaboration with several news partners, including organizations such as the owners of The Wall Street Journal, The Associated Press, and Vox Media, the parent company of The edge“News partners provided us with valuable feedback and we continue to seek their input,” Wood says.

In early September, OpenAI launched a new way for ChatGPT to navigate the web, called Explore with Bing, but it was very basic compared to SearchGPT.
