Sam Altman and Oliver Mulherin exchange rings at the altar dressed all in white
Sam Altman, the well-known CEO of OpenAI, married Oliver Mulherin at his “$43 million Hawaii estate” in a moving ceremony.
Gorgeous images from the small-scale wedding in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii Island, went viral on social media on Thursday. Altman gave NBC confirmation of the good news.
In the photos, the couple is seen exchanging rings at the altar while dressed all in white.
Another shows the couple doing a traditional Jewish wedding custom: stomping on a glass wrapped in a napkin.
Altman, 38, made headlines late last year when he was fired from OpenAI, the company that created ChatGPT, only to return a few days later following a staff uprising.
Before last year, the CEO had a much lower profile but made more public appearances, including testifying before Congress about the future of artificial intelligence.
Business Insider verified the authenticity of wedding photos circulating online, which appear to have been taken from Altman's personal Instagram story.
Mulherin once worked at Meta and is a software engineer by profession.
He was born in Australia and graduated in Computer Science from the University of Melbourne.
