A tiger in India picks up a plastic bottle from a water well, shaming polluters and alarming Internet users.

A tiger collecting a plastic bottle from a waterhole in Tadoba National Park in Maharashtra has worried netizens over environmental degradation by humans.

In the video, shot by wildlife photographer Deep Kathikar, a tiger is seen retrieving a plastic bottle from a waterhole in Tadoba National Park in Maharashtra.

Plastic left behind by humanity has littered the earth, from the tops of mountains to the depths of the ocean. Even the most isolated and pristine areas of the Earth, including forests, are now home to plastic waste. Because of this, wild animals frequently gnaw on abandoned plastic, putting their health at risk.

The video was shot in December 2023 and Kathikar said that the tiger is the cub of the Bhanuskhindi tigress of Ramdegi Hills. As the video begins, a magnificent young tiger can be seen walking with a plastic bottle, which he picked up from the water hole, clutched in his mouth.

''Sweet gesture of the Tiger. We will try to keep our jungles clean. Cub from Bhanuskhindi, Ramdegi Hills,'' the video said.

Some Internet users described the situation as “alarming”, while others were left heartbroken and worried after watching the video.

One user said: ''It's beautiful and sad at the same time. “I'm ashamed that a tiger had to clean up what we left behind.” Another commented: ''Wow, what a powerful video! “This compelling video raising awareness about the need to ban plastic deserves to be submitted to multiple platforms, where it is likely to receive widespread praise.”

A third wrote: ''Those are such moving images… It is very sad to see the magnitude of the damage we are causing to our planet.'

A fourth added: “It's hard to see at what level the destruction is happening. Let's take responsibility for our planet and our environment and keep it clean and green.”
