A 10-year-old girl died at the scene after being bitten by her family's dog at their home in North Yorkshire, despite the efforts of medical professionals and a member of the public to save her.
Officers were contacted by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to arrive at the scene of the incident in the Malton area of North Yorkshire at around 4.15pm local time on Friday. daily express reported.
According to the police, the little girl suffered “serious injuries” and, despite the efforts of medical professionals and a citizen who came to the family's aid, she died at the scene, at her home.
After the attack, the dog, whose breed has not yet been revealed, was secured inside a car by a family member and was seized by officers when they arrived.
The dog was later taken to a secure kennel where it is being evaluated as part of the investigation.
