Turkish Airlines and UN Tourism establish strategic partnership focused on sustainable tourism – Business Traveler

Türkiye's national flag carrier, Turkish Airlines and the World Tourism Organization (United Nations Tourism), a United Nations agency and leading international public organization in tourism, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of the Ambassador from the Republic of Türkiye to the Kingdom of Spain, Mrs. Nüket Küçükel Ezberci. With this MoU, both parties aim to work closely to enhance initiatives that promote sustainable tourism and civil aviation on a global scale.

As an airline recognized for flying to more countries than any other in the world, Turkish Airlines will collaborate with UN Tourism to achieve common goals. This partnership will focus on promoting sustainable tourism practices, fostering aviation development, and promoting the expansion of public-private sector cooperation to drive advances in air connectivity, especially in emerging destinations. Both parties will leverage their experience and guidance in their respective fields, exchanging knowledge and working on case studies on topics such as sustainable aviation fuel.

Commenting on the signing of the MoU, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines, Prof. Ahmet Bolat, added: “We are excited to embark on a journey to forge a strategic partnership with United Nations Tourism to achieve our shared goal. objectives of promoting sustainable tourism and improving global connectivity. “This potential partnership underlines our commitment to sustainable tourism and highlights our role as a global connector, uniting people and cultures around the world.”
