Filming for another one is officially underway. game of Thrones split, like Dragon House The second season helped streaming service Max achieve the biggest day in its history.
According to Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), some 7.8 million people tuned in to watch the first episode of Dragon House second broadcast on Sunday (June 16), both on HBO and Max; That number was less than the 10 million who watched the first season premiere, but it still helped Max achieve its biggest global streaming day ever, according to Variety. Admittedly, the comparison isn't exact, given that Max didn't exist when the HOTD S1 arrived, but it's still an impressive number.
Now WBD has confirmed that the production of another game of Thrones cleave, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, has officially begun and revealed that five more cast members will be joining the show's ensemble. The five in question are Finn Bennett (True Detective: Night Country) as Aerion Targaryen, Bertie Carvel (The crown) as Baelor Targaryen, Tanzyn Crawford (beautiful little things) as Tanselle, Daniel Ings (The Knights) as Ser Lyonel Baratheon and finally Sam Spruell (fargo) as Maekar Targaryen.
It was also announced that Owen Harris, director of black mirrorthe best episode San Junipero (he was also behind I'll be right back), would join Sara Adina Smith (chemistry lessons) during three of the six episodes.
The show, adapted from the work of George RR Martin. Dunk and Egg Tales novels, will not be released until the end of 2025, but given the popularity of the game of Thrones prequel, it's probably one of Max's best shows.
More Westeros Adventures Coming
RR Martin once said in an interview with The Guardian that when he started writing Game of Thrones, he I originally thought it might be a short story. How wrong I was. Since the original show concluded in 2019, it has spawned its own fledgling television ecosystem, with eight spin-off shows said to be in development at HBO as of last year.
At least one of them is now apparently dead, and Kit Harington revealed that a mooted series about Jon Snow was “off the table” in an interview in April. However, there could still be up to seven projects ahead. And that doesn't even include the third season of Dragon House, which has already been confirmed, so there's plenty of Westeros action in the works.
