This partnership opens the second-hand category to the Zalando Partner Program for the first time, capitalizing on Zalando's evolution from retailer to retail facilitator. By providing a complete ecosystem for fashion and lifestyle e-commerce across Europe, Zalando opens up new opportunities for both partners and customers, now in the second-hand space. This strategic collaboration unites Vestiaire Collective's unrivaled luxury resale experience with Zalando's extensive platform, elevating the secondhand shopping experience for millions of customers.
The partnership directly addresses the exceptional demand for high-quality used fashion. In 2025, an average of 62 per cent of Zalando's second-hand range was sold within the first seven days of listing. Additionally, Zalando data shows that 40 percent of customers who buy used fashion also add a new item to their order, showing that they value finding everything they need in one place.
Zalando and Vestiaire Collective have teamed up to bring authenticated pre-owned luxury fashion to customers across 14 European markets. The collaboration adds verified designer clothing, footwear, bags and accessories from more than 50 luxury brands to the Zalando platform, combining Vestiaire's authentication expertise with Zalando's convenience and the growing demand for circular fashion.
Trust has been at the core of Vestiaire Collective since its inception in 2009. Created to set the highest standards for the resale of luxury goods, Vestiaire Collective Trust Services has continually grown stronger over the years, with over 100 authenticators and 50 quality controllers worldwide. All Vestiaire Collective items available at Zalando benefit from this robust authentication verification process, designed to ensure quality and trust at every step. Customers continue to enjoy the convenience they expect from Zalando, including a 30-day return window. To keep that promise of quality, any returned item goes through physical re-authentication at a Vestiaire Collective facility before coming back online.
“We are delighted to launch this truly luxury collection with Vestiaire Collective as our first used vehicle partner,” says Alice Marshall, secondhand director at Zalando. “Demand for high-quality used fashion continues to grow. By adding authentic luxury to the mix and combining it with Zalando's unmatched comfort, we aim to encourage even more customers to explore secondhand shopping.”
“We are excited to partner with Zalando to continue democratizing authenticated second-hand luxury for millions of customers across Europe. This partnership opens the door for a new generation of customers to discover and engage with luxury fashion through second-hand fashion, meeting them where they already shop. It reflects a shared ambition to make circular luxury more visible, more relevant and more attractive to a broader, younger audience,” he says. Thomas Hezard, Product Manager at Vestiaire Collective.
The luxury range curated by Vestiaire Collective is immediately available to Zalando customers on an exclusive Vestiaire Collective homepage and in the second-hand category in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Sweden.
Zalando continues to expand its second-hand range to capture the growing demand for high-quality second-hand fashion. Earlier this year, the company added children's fashion and accessories to the category, allowing parents to purchase and trade in gently used children's clothing.
