Aknvas Resort 2025: Shine

“Last year we saw a very good sale with our resort collection, so I knew I wanted to do something around lights and sparkles, but finding sophisticated ways to do it,” Aknvas designer Christian Juul Nielsen said of the collection “out schedule” from last year. A line dyed in Christmas fashion. By fall, he also added Neiman Marcus (in Dallas and online) to his list of stockists and began opening boutiques, such as Tootsies in Houston.

For resort 2025, she continued the approach while upping the ante with ample shine, rich textures and a host of new embroidery, direct nods to her previous role at Dior, within Couture, and to Nina Ricci, where she was in charge of embroidery. .

The first two looks in her collection featured bold red sequin styles: a knee-length dress with perfectly folded bow straps and a pair of skintight party pants. Juul Nielsen said the development included mixing thicker shiny red sequins with matte sequins to create a “more modern approach to shimmer.”

They were also an ode to the collection's overarching theme, “Luminescence,” inspired by one of Danish designer's favorite Icelandic-Danish artists, Olafur Eliasson.

Developments continued through sexy, sheer floral lace blouses with high necks; a ruffled corset with sheer black lace pants, embroidered with sequins and rhinestones, and signature cocktail shakers, now gilded and featuring sculptural busts adorned with bows (a recurring accent throughout the resort), to name a few.

But it wasn't all glitter and shine.

Juul Nielsen completed the assortment with equally strong simple knit tops and dresses in “acid sherbet yellow” with sleeves and hems adorned with metal rings – a cool take on modern embroidery. There were also Aspen-ready faux fur capes along with ruffled, frothy soft pink halter dresses with “feather fringes” and giant bows pinned to the back.

Juul Nielsen said that with each collection he wants to surprise and impress the Aknvas customer. She did it with her celebration sign at the resort.
