What makes 'The Bear' great? Readers weigh in

To the editor: I don’t know when an episode has provoked such an emotional reaction from me as this “El Oso” show did, and then you wrote about it. I was surprised that such a talented actress like Liza Colón-Zayas had been mostly a supporting figure in the past, but she and Ayo Edebiri as director hit a home run with this show. The character development, the expressions, the camera focus, and the pain we were witnessing were all so well done that I was completely absorbed by the story presented.

Thank you for highlighting this powerful and well done episode, Ms. Colón-Zayas and Ms. Edebiri!

To the editor: Brilliant review and psychoanalysis by Mary McNamara on the third season of “The Bear.” Makes me want to call my old psychiatrist and invite him over for steak sandwiches and an in-depth analysis of McNamara’s terrific review.

To the editor: McNamara's is one of the best reviews I have seen of a television show in my 70 years of life. A masterpiece that reveals and exposes the souls of the characters and the critic. Brilliant.
