Letters to the Editor: Eliminating Education and Job Training for Inmates Doesn't Make Anyone Safer

to the editor: These inmates will at some point return to society and will be our neighbors (“California prisons clamp down on overtime, limit access to classes for incarcerated people” June 28). What do we want then? People who have received some education and job training, or people who have been languishing in cells and learning to be better criminals?

Eliminating opportunities for education, job training, and anger management is not the path to rehabilitation and public safety.
