Video shows group looting LA AutoZone after taking over a street

Nearly 50 people robbed an AutoZone after a street takeover in Los Angeles on Monday morning, authorities announced.

The theft was reported around 3:50 a.m. at an AutoZone located at Century Boulevard and Hoover Street, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer David Cuellar.

A shot had taken place on the street near the store and video from the scene showed about 50 people crowded around the front of the store, several covering their heads and faces with hoodies and masks opening the security door, breaking in and stealing items.

Officers called for backup to pursue someone driving a gray Infiniti sedan who was fleeing the scene, Cuellar said. The person was arrested on suspicion of robbery at Pepper Street and East Sycamore Avenue.
