“The Fall Guy” stuntman Logan Holladay broke a Guinness World Record previously set in 2006 by Adam Kirley in “Casino Royale.”
Holladay was honored with his official Guinness World Record certificate, presented by Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt during a special screening of the film on March 13 in Los Angeles.
The record broken by Holladay was for most cannon shots in an automobile. The previous record was seven runs on the “James Bond” film “Casino Royale.” Holladay was able to break the record with an impressive eight and a half runs on “The Fall Guy.”
HOLLYWOOD PUZZLE RYAN GOSLING AND HIS ACTING CAREER AS A PROTAGONIST
“The cannon shot, a classic trick dating back to the early days of cinema, involves placing a cannon-like device under a car that shoots toward the ground,” explains a press release from Universal Pictures. “As the vehicle reaches a designated speed, the mechanism activates and propels the car through a series of turns. Holladay performed the stunt behind the wheel of a modified Jeep Grand Cherokee equipped with a fiberglass external body.”
David Leitch, the director of the film that pays tribute to the specialists, is one of them. He has doubled for Brad Pitt several times throughout his career, according to IMDb, including in the films “Ocean's Eleven” and “Troy.”
As for Holladay, he grew up in a world of stunts and continued a career path similar to the one he saw his father take.
“Growing up, my dad was a stuntman, so the influence of movie sets and the world of stunts was always there,” Holladay said in the press release. “When I found out 'The Fall Guy' was going into production, I knew I had to be a part of it.”

After the first recorded attempt to perform the trick, the record was not broken. With one car left, they tried again and were able to accomplish the feat.
“As for the cannon shots, after two practice runs and one live shot, we were down to one car and one shot left,” Holladay said in the release. “And after I reached eight and a half turns, I had a pretty good feeling that I had broken the record because it felt like the turn was never going to stop. It was a surreal moment and I'm incredibly proud of what the team accomplished.”
“The Fall Guy” is based on the 1980s television show of the same name. In the film, Gosling plays a stuntman named Colt Seavers. Blunt plays a director named Jody Moreno in the film. Hannah Waddingham, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Stephanie Hsu and Winston Duke also star in the upcoming film.
