Stephen A Smith refuses to apologize to Danhausen for Knicks curse

The Danhausen “curse” has been quite real in the world of WWE.

The Miz, Kit Wilson and Dominik Mysterio have all felt the reverberations of the dreaded “curse” of WWE's “very nice, very evil” superstar, but it has also had its effect on New York sports. While the New York Mets seemed to be over it, the New York Knicks were tangentially affected thanks to Stephen A. Smith.

Danhausen appeared on “First Take” last week and “cursed” broadcaster ESPN. Smith, a huge Knicks fan above all else, has seen his team fall 2-1 to the Atlanta Hawks in their first-round series of the NBA playoffs. His extremely specific topic was broadcast on social media on Friday.

“(Stephen A. Smith) APOLOGIZE and Danhausen will think about maybe considering lifting your curse,” Danhausen wrote in X. “Also send human money.”

Smith didn't seem willing to do any of that.

“I don't apologize for anything @DanhausenAD,” Smith responded. “It's nothing. Damn or no damn, the @nyknicks have NO BUSINESS losing this series to the @ATLHawks, no matter how good that young team is. There's nothing to be done.

“If the @Knicks lose this series, heads need to roll. Period. President! GM! Coach! Players! Even the damn dance team! Screw all that superstitious stuff. The @nyknicks need to handle their damn business. They better not lose this series, dammit. I swear they better not!”

While he ended up there on Friday night, Danhausen appeared on “Friday Night SmackDown” with a giant photo of Smith's head.

“You better be nice to Danhausen. Ask Stephen A. Smith,” Danhausen told Trick Williams and Lil Yachty. “How about the Knicks?!”
