Southern California couple living on nudist ranch mysteriously disappear, police say

Police are asking for help locating an elderly couple who lived on a nudist ranch in Redlands with their dog and mysteriously disappeared earlier this week, police said.

Stephanie Menard, 73, and her husband, Daniel Menard, 79, were reported missing by a friend to the Redland Police Department on Sunday, according to a news release. The couple was last seen at their Keissel Road home around 10 a.m. the previous day.

Authorities said the Menards' car was found unlocked down the street from their home and Stephanie's purse was found inside the house along with her and Daniel's cellphones. The couple's dog, a small Shih Tzu named Cuddles, is also missing.

Daniel is diabetic and suffers from dementia, police said.

The couple's friend, Tammie Wilkerson, told ABC7 that the Menards live at the Olive Dell nudist ranch and are very active in the community.

“They are very sweet people. There is not one iota of evil in them, which makes this whole thing very confusing,” Wilkerson said.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the Menards is asked to contact the Redlands Police Department at (909) 798-7681 or Detective Thomas Williams at [email protected].
