Two convenience stores were robbed in Hollywood on Friday night within a half-hour, both by young men riding bicycles, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
About 20 youths arrived at a store in the 7000 block of Sunset Boulevard around 8 p.m., smashed windows and grabbed food and other merchandise, a department spokesman said.
A group of youths matching the description held up another store around 8:20 p.m. in the 5700 block of Santa Monica Boulevard. KABC-TV reported that both stores robbed were 7-Eleven stores.
As of Saturday morning, police had not made any arrests. There was no estimate of the value of the stolen goods and no injuries were reported, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.
The robberies in Hollywood follow a similar incident last week in the Pico-Robertson area, where a group of youths looted a 7-Eleven store and rode off on bicycles, Fox 11-TV reported. Video shows people jumping over the counter and grabbing merchandise.
