Dara Torres conquered the pool at the Olympic Games during the height of her swimming career.

Torres won 12 Olympic medals while representing the United States at five Olympic Games between 1988 and 2008, and her medal count is tied for the most among female swimmers of all time, along with Jenny Thompson and Natalie Coughlin.

When it comes to staying physically fit, there's no doubt the 57-year-old Olympic legend knows a thing or two about it. Torres has partnered with BOOST to help emphasize the importance of physical activity and protein intake for adults 50 and older.

Torres, 57, and BOOST launched BOOST Camp in May to help adults who feel uncomfortable returning to the gym or restarting a workout routine get back into a groove from the comfort of their own home.

“I partnered with BOOST because we realized that as you get into your 50s, a lot of adults are very intimidated by going to gyms, either because of the equipment and not knowing what to do or because there are young, attractive bodies there and you're intimidated to go or even take classes,” she told Fox News Digital in a recent interview.

“I love taking classes because I've been trained my whole life, so I like having someone tell me what to do. But there are people who aren't like that, and because exercise is so important to trying to get lean muscle mass and maintain it, we came up with a concept of making these exercises, videos, so that adults can do them in the comfort of their own home.

“It's just about being comfortable, but making sure you exercise to maintain lean muscle mass.”

Torres said maintaining an exercise regimen and getting the necessary daily protein are two important factors in having a healthy lifestyle.

“There are a couple of factors. Obviously, exercise is very important. You have to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but also incorporate protein into your diet,” Torres said, adding that BOOST protein shakes are good for reaching protein goals even when you're on the go.
