Mikaela Shiffrin wins gold medal at the Winter Olympics

Mikaela Shiffrin returned to the top of the podium in the women's alpine skiing slalom event on Wednesday at the Winter Olympics.

As he bided his time, his coach told him to “break this.” She certainly did.

Shiffrin posted a total time of 1:39.10 after coming down the hill with a time of 47.13 on her first run and 51.97 on her second. He catapulted into gold medal position and added to Team USA's medal total.

After a disastrous run at the 2022 Beijing Games, Shiffrin was able to maintain her composure and put together an incredible run to take gold. But she had to wait a few agonizing seconds because the two competitors preceding her failed to complete the course.

She is the second Olympic skier to win gold in the event twice.
