Meghan Markle was seen with a friend from Hollywood.

Markle and Kimberly Williams-Paisley had lunch together on Sunday at Tre Lune in Montecito, California.

“They had a very pleasant time, chatting and laughing together,” a source told People magazine. “The couple was discreet and were not bothered by the other guests.”

Both graduated from Northwestern University: Williams-Paisley earned her degree in 1993 and Markle in 2003. Both are also familiar with the Hollywood scene from their acting careers.

Williams-Paisley landed her breakout role in 1991's “Father of the Bride.” The actress is also known for her roles in “We Are Marshall” and the television show “According to Jim.”

Markle and Prince Harry have been putting down roots in the US after leaving royal life behind in 2020. Markle has not returned to the UK since Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in September 2022. She attended the funeral with Prince Harry but left her children behind in the US.

Many have speculated that Harry and Meghan could return to the UK together, but that reportedly won't be happening anytime soon.

Meanwhile, Markle jetted off to the Hamptons on Friday to join a group of powerful women at a summit to learn tips for her new lifestyle business, American Riviera Orchard, according to Page Six. Gwyneth Paltrow and Reese Witherspoon were among the star-studded names believed to have been at the event, the outlet reported.

Harry has returned to the UK to attend a number of events while Markle stayed in the country. She attended the coronation of King Charles III and also saw her father after the king was diagnosed with cancer.

Prince Harry's trip to England The time following the cancer diagnosis was brief, a royal expert told Fox News Digital at the time.

“He was there for 24 hours, saw his father for 45 minutes, flew out and announced to the press after the king's statement was made public, even though we later learned he had been told beforehand, and he didn't see his sister-in-law or his nephews even though they are also dealing with a traumatic recovery in their health,” Shannon Felton Spence explained. “It's hard to see it as anything other than a lifeline for Harry's image. And that hurts me, because I really hoped this was the news he needed to wake up and sort it out.”

Although things haven't been the best between Prince Harry and his family, the Duke of Sussex is reportedly set to receive an inheritance left by his great-grandmother on his 40th birthday, September 15. The Queen Mother was 101 when she died and reportedly placed two-thirds of her estimated $120 million fortune into a trust at the time.

According to the British newspaper Mirror, the Duke of Sussex will receive $8.5 million for his share. The total is said to be more than the share Prince William received on his 40th birthday.

“It appears that Prince Harry has drawn the lucky straw when it comes to the trust fund,” British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told Fox News Digital. “The difference in the allocation of money is attributed to what is believed to be the future financial prospects of Prince William and Prince Harry.”

Fox News Digital has contacted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for comment.
