Matthew and Kelly Stafford married in 2015, but like all relationships, they weren't always sunshine and rainbows.
The two met while attending the University of Georgia and things got off to a rocky start.
“It wasn't that nice of a relationship at first,” Kelly said on the “Off the Vine” podcast. “She hated him, she loved him.”

But Kelly came up with a master plan to eventually break up with her future husband.
“I went out with the backup to annoy him, which worked; he was the bad guy too,” Kelly revealed. “Matthew is so sweet and such a Southern gentleman and all that. And the endorsement was the complete opposite, and that bothered him.”
Not only were the two quarterbacks, but they were also roommates, according to Kelly.

“They lived in the same dorm because the athletes lived in the same dorm. He saw my car there. At one point he waited and followed me to the car. I was like, 'This is amazing, it's working.' I was like, 'Get out of my car.' He was like, 'He's not right for you.' I was like, 'What? You can't tell me that,'” she said.
It is unknown who Kelly was referring to, but during Stafford's time at Georgia (2006 to 2008), he played opposite Joe Tereshinski, Joe Cox, AJ Bryant and Mohamed Massaquoi; Of those four, Cox is the only one to be at Georgia in all three of Stafford's seasons.
It appears Kelly made the right decision: Stafford was the No. 1 pick in 2009 and was always one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the league; Playing for, at the time, the lowly Detroit Lions, didn't help his case.
He finally got the recognition he deserved after winning Super Bowl LVI with the Los Angeles Rams.

The couple has four daughters from 3 to 7 years old, the two oldest being twins.
