A bullet fired from a gunshot went completely through the wall of an apartment in Valley Village, fatally wounding a neighbor, according to a police report.
On Monday around 9:30 p.m., North Hollywood patrol officers responded to a radio call about “shots fired” in the 5600 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. When they arrived, they found a person inside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound.
Paramedics later pronounced the person dead at the scene.
Los Angeles Police Department homicide detectives were called and discovered that a bullet fired from the apartment next door had gone through the wall and struck the victim.
No additional information has been released about the shooting and authorities are withholding the victim's identity until next of kin have been notified.
