Four people were killed Friday morning when a drunk driving suspect fled from police and crashed into another car in Upland, authorities said.
Around 2 a.m., a San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy in Rancho Cucamonga attempted to stop a DUI suspect who refused to stop, initiating a car chase that led to Upland and ended with the suspect's vehicle colliding with another. car at North Mountain Avenue and West 16th. Street, KTLA-TV reported.
Four people who were in the vehicle the agent was pursuing died and two other people involved in the accident were hospitalized, according to authorities. The identities of the four deceased were not immediately available.
Upland police and officials with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Times.
