Kylie Cantrall loves spending a day off in the Valley.
In Sunday Funday, the people of Los Angeles tell us step by step their ideal Sunday in the city. Find ideas and inspiration on where to go, what to eat and how to enjoy life on the weekends.
Born and raised in the Los Angeles area, Cantrall has worked in entertainment since launching a YouTube channel when she was 7 years old. At 21 years old, he has been rising through the ranks of Hollywood, doing everything from animated voices to live-action series, all while amassing millions of followers on social media. These days, she's best known among teens, tweens and under for her starring role as “Red” in Disney's “Descendants” franchise, with “Descendants: Wicked Wonderland,” which premiered last week. Always multi-hyphenate, Cantrall also hopes that his new eight-song EP, aptly titled “valley girls problems”, which he has been promoting with “Life ohF to valley girl”journey logs on TikTok – will help advance her career in mainstream pop music.
Because of all that ambition, Cantrall is busy almost all the time. Except on Sundays. “Sunday is my favorite day of the week,” he says, “and that's because of all the things I get to do.”
Here's everything Cantrall would do on a sunny Sunday.

9am: sleep, then walk
I'll have some yogurt for breakfast and then I'll be out the door, on my way to Fryman Canyon for a short morning walk. That's my benchmark because I like that you can control how hard you want the workout to be. It's not the craziest hike, it's actually pretty easy going, but there are a couple of incline points. It really is the perfect place for when you want to meet up with a friend and get some steps in, but you also don't want to die while trying to have a conversation.
Noon: Empanadas at the farmers market.
After a walk, I usually go to the Studio City Farmers Market. I'll have some vanilla latte with oat milk and stop at this stand. King's EmpanadasSince they make my favorite empanada in Los Angeles, I prefer the shredded chicken one, which is nice and small but very filling.
There is another seller there [Bautista Family Organic Ranch] who sells dates and are literally the best dates I've ever had in my life. They are desserts, essentially. They are so caramely and sweet.
I also always buy berries at the market, like raspberries and blueberries. There is another seller [Thyme for Honey] which makes different flavors of granola and their coffee flavored granola is so great that I will always have it too.
2:00 p.m.: finds at the market
I would probably meet a friend and go to the Silverlake Flea Marketwhich I have liked a lot lately. However, it's a little complicated for me since I'm in the Valley, about a nice 25 to 30 minutes.
At the Silverlake Flea Market, I had a lot of luck with jewelry, finding a lot of really cool rings, necklaces, and earrings, or other random little things. I always end up picking up a crystal too. It's like an energy that just takes over me.
You might also get lucky and find a cute baby t-shirt. They have some great vintage artist t-shirts and the last time I was there, I bought a nice Janet Jackson Rhythm Nation tour t-shirt.
16:00: Matcha stop
After the Silverlake flea [which is held in Atwater Village]I'm going to a coffee shop that I'm obsessed with. is called lavetaand they have the best matcha I've ever had. It has a nice cream lid and the store has a great vibe and atmosphere.
6:00 p.m.: Fight traffic with the top down
I like to go have fun once in a while just to get out of my Valley bubble, but after Laveta I'd probably head back home. I'm thinking I'd be in 6pm traffic, but I'd be listening to music with the top down on my Mini Cooper. Maybe a little Sade, maybe a little Brandy. I might add a little Kim Petras if traffic is clear and I'm speeding down the highway.
7 p.m.: Laundry and “The Morning Show”
I would probably try to get home by 7 to do laundry. I watched “The Morning Show,” which is my favorite show right now. Maybe I'd wear a mask too.
For dinner, I'll go buy something. katsuya Yes I feel crazy. Their place in the Valley has my favorite sushi, and I'm a big sushi girl. I'll order the Robert bun and maybe even a miso soup if I'm feeling crazy. I also have to add crispy rice with spicy tuna.
After that, probably just more “Morning Show” and then I usually try to be in bed by 11 p.m.
