US Senator Van Hollen sends good wishes to Pakistan ahead of Independence Day

US Senator from Maryland Chris Van Hollen extended his good wishes to Pakistan and its nation on its 77th Independence Day.

The senator offered his congratulations via a video message distributed to the public by Radio Pakistan. Van Hollen enthusiastically conveyed the strong ties that unite the two countries and their peoples.

“I am very pleased to join all of you in celebrating Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day. Over the past 77 years, the people of the United States and Pakistan have forged strong bonds of friendship. I look forward to doing my part to continue to strengthen our relationship,” Van Hollen said in the video message.

The Maryland senator highlighted the role of the Pakistani-American community in the development of the United States and strengthening bilateral relations: “Here in the United States, the Pakistani-American community has made enormous contributions to our country. In all spheres of activity, they are important bridge-builders between our two countries.”

Van Hollen further stated that the Pakistani nation has always treated him with generosity and warmth: “Throughout my life, I have experienced the generosity and warmth of the Pakistani people.”

The US senator concluded his emotional video message by wishing the country “a happy Independence Day” and reflecting on the enduring friendship between the United States and Pakistan.
