Rapper Travis Scott was booked into the Miami-Dade County Jail on Thursday after being arrested for alleged criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct intoxication, records show.
Scott, whose legal name is Jacques Bermon Webster, 33, was booked around 4:35 a.m. and held on a $500 bond and $150 surety bond, Maimi Jail inmate records show. Dade. He posted bail and tweeted “Lol” a few hours later.
Representatives for Scott declined to comment Thursday when contacted by The Times.
Miami Beach police said they responded to a call shortly after midnight about a disturbance on a yacht at the Miami Beach Marina, according to the arrest affidavit obtained by The Times. The caller told the dispatcher there were people fighting on the boat.
Upon arrival, officers said they saw the “Astroworld” and “Utopia” hitmaker standing next to the dock, yelling at the boat's occupants. When police made contact with Scott, he briefly complied with their request to sit down, but then “continually began to get up in disregard of the officers' commands.” the police report said.
“Throughout this interaction, officers on scene smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from the defendants' breath,” the report says. “Officers spoke with the complainant, who stated that he did not want to press charges and just wanted the defendant to get off the boat.” They also asked Scott, who had been on the yacht, if he had any property on the boat, and he responded “no.”
Police said they asked Scott to leave the dock or he would be arrested, adding that during “the long walk from the boat to the pier, [Scott] “He walked backwards shouting obscenities at the occupants of the boat.”
The “Sicko Mode” rapper got into a car waiting nearby and left, but returned to the marina about five minutes later and allegedly ignored orders not to enter, police said. They again asked him to leave and, when he refused, he was arrested.
“[Scott] He bypassed officers in the marina parking lot ignoring officers' orders not to go. Once [he] started talking… [he] “They began yelling once again becoming erratic, disturbing the peace of the occupants of the marina and nearby residential buildings causing a public disturbance,” the affidavit states. “[Scott] “He also ignored warnings from officers not to return to Miami Beach Marina.”
Police said Scott later admitted he had been drinking and said “it's Miami.”
There was no physical altercation during the incident, according to a person familiar with the matter who was not authorized to speak publicly. The person described the event as “a loud party” and confirmed that after posting bail, Scott went home and that no further action would be taken.
“It was a minor incident similar to getting a ticket with no injuries,” the person said.
The ten-time Grammy-nominated rap artist is best known for his album “Astroworld” and last year released “Utopia,” his first studio album in five years. The musician, who shares two children with reality star Kylie Jenner, became embroiled in controversy after the fatal crowd crush at the 2021 Astroworld Festival that resulted in 10 deaths and hundreds of lawsuits.
“I always think about it,” Scott said in a November interview with GQ. “Those fans were like my family. You know, I love my fans to the fullest.”
