Shakira talks about finding work-life balance after split from Gerard Piqué

Shakira got candid about how her relationship with ex Gerard Piqué was dragging her down as she talked about finding work-life balance after the split.

He Waka Waka revealed that she had a “love-hate” relationship with her job while dating the former Barcelona footballer.

The singer said during an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 that she felt “guilty” while working, as she often left her and Piqué's two children at home.

“Sometimes it was like a love-hate relationship because every time they had to take me to the studio to do my work, I failed,” he shared.

“I felt like I was leaving my family neglected. There were times when I didn't really enjoy it. You know, I felt guilty. I felt torn,” the singer added.

However, things have changed for Shakira, she revealed, adding that “although it is more challenging because now I am in charge of these two children, these two babies who depend on me so much.”

“And I'm a single mother, I don't have a husband at home to help me with anything,” she continued. “In a way, it's good not to have a husband because that… I don't know why he was bringing me down, man.

“Now I feel like working. I feel like writing songs. I feel like making music. It's a compulsive need that I didn't feel before.”

Shakira is set to release her twelfth studio album and her first album in seven years. Women No Longer Cry (Women no longer cry)March 22nd.
