Ryan Reynolds recently spoke candidly about a heartfelt letter he wrote to his father before he died.

As fans will know, the Deadpool and Wolverine The star previously shared that her father was “never an easy person to be around.”

However, the acting sensation recently revealed that he wrote her a message to express his true feelings, according to People magazine.

The father of four began the emotional conversation by saying, “I sent a letter to my dad probably about five months before he passed away, and I’m so grateful that I did.”

She continued, “The letter was basically a list of all the amazing things he had done. Every time he showed up or every time he played with me outside after baseball practice.”

“He was always there, and if a man couldn't express his emotions in a dynamic way, well, a lot of people can't,” Blake Lively's husband also said.

“The guy was born in the 40s. That’s okay. So I’m very grateful that I sent him that letter. I know for a fact that it meant a lot to him and it goes back to my earliest memories to the present day or as close to the present day as possible,” he continued.

“I was able to close that loop, but I wasn’t with him when he passed away and I really wish I had been,” Ryan said.
