Princess Diana once let slip a key piece of information about her life with King Charles while she was still engaged to His Majesty.
The former Princess of Wales spoke out about her heated feud with her husband-to-be at a Buckingham Palace garden party, leading to their nuptials becoming the talk of the town.
Daily Mirror editor John Edwards told the Channel 5 documentary what Diana actually said to him in Charles and Di: The Truth Behind their Wedding: “There was a lot of humour, an interest in the people she was talking to. She stopped right in front of me – we were only a few feet away – and someone said to her 'good luck, darling'.”
“Thank you very much,” she said, and then put her hand over her mouth and said, “There was a terrible fight between Charles and me last night. It was at his bachelor party.” She repeated it in that feminine way she has. She didn't say what the fight was about.
Chatting to a group of guests at a Buckingham Palace garden party, Lady Diana said: “Where's Prince Charles? Oh, there he is. He was very angry with me last night.”
“If he comes here, ask him why,” Diana added.
John said: “I've covered some very big stories in my life, but a little row between Charles and Diana – that's how it ended. That's what 7 million Daily Mirror readers read the next morning.”
