Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's break with the Royal Family has become public in recent years.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have been very vocal about the alleged atrocities the couple faced at the hands of the Institution, have burned all bridges on their royal return.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams says “husband and wife attacks in recent years are the main reason.”
“If, instead of criticizing, as their chosen talking heads did in the 'Harry and Meghan' documentary for Netflix, they praised the Commonwealth while in member Nigeria, it could help heal relations,” Fitzwilliams said.
He added: “It is, after all, Queen Elizabeth's most significant legacy. It is also likely that the king did not like Harry's interview on Good Morning America after they met in February, when he learned of the diagnosis of his father and when he spoke of family unity.”
Prince Harry left the Royal Family in 2020 along with his wife Meghan Markle and their son, Prince Archie. The couple later accused the Royal Family of showing racism towards their son and publicly shared their complaints on television. Harry and Meghan now live in California, where they also welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet.
