Maika Monroe recounts the first time she met Hollywood icon Nicolas Cage on set. Long legs.
Cage plays the titular serial killer. Long legs in the upcoming horror thriller starring Monroe as an FBI agent assigned to catch him before he commits more murders.
Remembering the first time he met Ghost Rider The star said: “I didn't see him or see any pictures of him. I didn't meet Nick until they called the action. That's when I opened the door to a room and saw him for the first time.”
Cage transformed himself into the character with facial prosthetics and heavy makeup to give him the look of botched plastic surgery.
When Monroe first saw him, his heart rate went from 76 to 170 bpm.
“I think I passed out because it was probably one of the craziest experiences I've ever had on a set,” she said. The Hollywood Reporter.
“Nick Cage is an icon. Everybody knows him, everybody knows what he looks like and how he talks. He's Nick Cage,” he said.
“They put me in a room and even though I knew it was him, there was no resemblance. And as you know, his acting is absolutely incredible. So I was in front of this monster and it was so surreal that it was very easy for me to get into character that day,” she revealed.
“The whole day of shooting, he was just getting into character with the Long Legs voice. And then when we finally finished the last take and asked to cut, that was the first time I heard his real voice,” she added.
“He leaned across the table and he was like, 'I'm a huge fan of yours. ' So I looked around and I was like, 'Did everyone hear that? Did everyone get that? Because Nick Cage just said he's a huge fan of yours. ' So it was a pretty crazy moment for me,” he recalled.
