Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who stepped away from royal life in 2020 to plough their own furrow, reportedly made the decision to move to California 12 months before the announcement.
Royal expert Anna Pasternak, speaking to “Meghan & Harry: The Rise & Fall,” claimed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex took the step to protect their son, stating Archie's birth in May 2019 started the Mexgit process.
“I think that started to make things worse[the lack of privacy after Archie was born]and then of course it's easy to add the moniker that they're entitled, that they're going to do it their way, that they're difficult, that they're not playing the real game,” she told the BBC. Channel 5 show.
The author went on to explain the real reason why real life didn't work out for the couple, adding: “I think there was definitely a sense that the pressure was building, that cracks were starting to appear and that there was friction.”
Meanwhile, King Charles' former butler Paul Burrell also claimed that Harry and Meghan were apparently planning to quit royal jobs since Archie's birth.
Burrell, who was close to William and Harry's late mother Princess Diana, said: “Why didn't they want to show the world their joy? They're withdrawing, they're pulling away. That's when I thought everything was going wrong.”
Harry and Meghan shockingly announced their decision to step down as working royals in January 2020, just eight months after welcoming Archie into the world.
