Joseph Quinn seeks a new version of Johnny Storm in 'Fantastic Four'

The Fantastic Four's Johnny Storm torch has been passed from Chris Evans to Michael B. Jordan and now to Joseph Quinn, who aims to do something unique with the superhero character.

In a chat with PEOPLE, the Stranger Things actor opened up about the pressure to direct a role that has had big takers in the past. He acknowledged that he has “big boots to fill, twice.”

Although he did not contact them after taking on the role, Joseph said: “They are both brilliant actors and did an incredible job with their portrayal of Johnny.”

“So I think it's a matter of trying to find something… well, not different. I guess it will come from me.”

He added: “I've definitely been inspired by his performances, so we'll see how it goes.”

Joseph's casting came after a frenzy over the matter. However, Disney finally shared the official cast, which includes Reed Richard (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm (Joseph), and Ben Grimm (Ebon Moss-Bachrach).

As of 2019, the film is said to be in the works and will be released in 2025 after the previous two film adaptations.
