This is taking place in the context of a new movie rather than a fourth season of The Mandalorian and Grogu.
In a conversation with Scott Sanders at D23: The Ultimate Event for Disney FansThe director, who was on the panel with the series' executive producer Dave Filoni, spoke energetically about his upcoming film.
Describing his goal for the character's loyal fans, he said this film “will have something that rewards the people who have been with him.” [The Mandalorian] from the beginning, and with Star Wars from the beginning.”
Apart from this, the Wonder The star also shared other reasons why he wanted to have the film, namely reaching a wider audience through the appeal of hit characters Din Djarin and Grogu, as he said, “Every kid knows who he is,” referring to Grogu.
