Jeezy denies Jeannie Mai's negligence and claims there is domestic violence

Jeannie Mai and Jeezy's ongoing divorce and custody battle is becoming even more contentious as new legal documents reveal allegations of domestic violence, verbal abuse, and child neglect by Mai against the “Put On” rapper.

In a response filed Thursday in Georgia's Fulton County Superior Court, the former “The Real” talk show personality unleashed a series of accusations against her husband of two years, challenging his “ability to properly raise a child.” little”. The former couple, who separated in September 2023, is in a heated custody battle over her 2-year-old daughter, Monaco.

Mai's 117-page response, reviewed by The Times, details three incidents in 2022 in which Jeezy allegedly verbally and physically assaulted Mai. Court documents accuse the rapper of “failing to adequately monitor” baby Monaco during his parenting time and storing firearms and bullets in “unsecured locations” in his Atlanta home.

“The allegations are not only false, but also deeply disturbing, especially coming from someone I loved,” the 46-year-old rapper (real name Jay Wayne Jenkins) said in a statement shared with The Times. “This malicious attempt to tarnish my character and disrupt my family is ridiculous.”

The statement continues: “It is disheartening to witness the manipulation and deceit at play and right now my main concern is being an active father to our daughter as I continue to fight for court-ordered joint custody. Rest assured that the truth will prevail through proper legal channels.”

The rapper, also known as Snowman, shared a photo of the statement on his Instagram page on Thursday. “Everyone knows me. #Integrity,” he captioned his post.

Jeezy and Mai married in March 2021 and welcomed their first child together that same year. In the months following Monaco's birth, Mai promoted the family she and Jeezy had started on social media. But those public glimpses of family seaside vacations and Christmas festivities came amid incidents of alleged verbal and physical abuse, according to court documents.

The couple allegedly got into an argument on January 18, 2022, when they were in a parked car in Miami. Jeezy allegedly insulted his then-wife and threatened a divorce. Mai also said that Jeezy kept her inside the vehicle “against her will” and “hit” her. [her] with a closed fist on his cheekbone and eye, causing a subconjunctival hemorrhage,” or rupture of a blood vessel in the eye, when he tried to get out of the car.

Mai also detailed another dispute months later, in April 2022, when the couple stayed at the Ritz-Carlton in San Francisco. She alleged that Jeezy “drowned.” [her] from behind” while climbing a staircase, pushed her down the stairs and swore at her, allegedly repeating: “I can do it much better than you.” According to a hotel report included in Mai's response, hotel security intervened in the couple's dispute and Mai said at the time that she “felt unsafe” in the presence of her husband.

The third alleged incident occurred during UNCF's 39th Atlanta Mayor's Masquerade Ball in December 2022, where Jeezy allegedly “became enraged” when he did not know his wife's whereabouts and abruptly demanded that they leave the event, according to court documents. Mai alleged that the rapper, after asking the driver to abandon the car, “grabbed [her] because of the neckline of her dress” after she tried to get out of the vehicle on two occasions. Her dress was allegedly torn during the exchange and she received “multiple 2 to 3 inch scratches on her right breast due to [Jeezy’s] nails,” the legal documents said. Mai said she told a therapist about the incident with Jeezy present and told a friend in confidence.

“[Jeezy] “has a history of threats, violence and bodily harm,” court documents say. “[Mai] wrongly believed [Jeezy] when he convinced her before they were married that he was a changed man and that his past was in his past, but as you can see from the examples of abuse [Mai] suffered during the marriage that has not turned out to be the case.”

Mai's response also sparked renewed concern over Jeezy's firearms and alleged lack of custody, which has caused strain on their temporary co-parenting agreement. Denying the rapper's previous claims that he “has always made sure his firearms are secured and in a safe place,” Mai alleged that her estranged ex-husband “frequently” walks around their Atlanta home with a AK-47 in his hand and leaves bullets, “an obvious danger of suffocation”, lying in his “unsafe” house.

Photos included in Mai's response show the rapper walking down a staircase in his home with a firearm. Mai also said she turned over to police a gun she discovered in her Los Angeles home before she and Monaco moved to Boston earlier this month for work.

In a motion to vacate their mediation agreement filed earlier this month, Jeezy claimed his son would have “stability” if he were granted “primary physical custody.” Mai responded to the “All There” rapper’s claim with accusations of child neglect. Mai alleges that Jeezy left her son unattended on multiple occasions, including during a visit in December 2023 when she learned that Monaco “had been locked in his room overnight,” which allegedly resulted in a “toxic and toxic situation.” health-related biological risk.

Mai also alleged that Jeezy refused to keep Monaco on his health insurance policy, despite her requests.

“For [Jeezy] to try it now [to] “Creating a false narrative in which you attempt to villainize the mother of your child because she did not do what she agreed to do to carry out her parenting time with her daughter is false,” she said in her response.

Mai's filing cited her ex-husband's arrest in 2014, detailed his alleged drinking habits and drunk driving accidents, and accused him of domestic violence toward their eldest son. Mai also included evidence of email correspondences between the spouses' respective attorneys, photographs of Mai's bruised limbs after an alleged golf cart accident, and text message exchanges allegedly between the former couple.

“Babbby…me. I have many dresses to wear this week,” reads a message from Mai. She sent several photographs of her injuries in the alleged golf art accident to the author of “Adversity for Sale.”

“I'm so sorry, darling. I haven't forgiven myself for putting you in danger [sic]. “I’ve been uncomfortable and sad about this,” Jeezy allegedly said, according to the screenshot.

In Thursday's appearance, Mai responded to Jeezy's most recent allegations about her daughter's whereabouts and the care she received from her mother. Mai is also willing to undergo a parenting suitability evaluation, as Jeezy previously requested.

Mai asked the court to enforce the terms of the agreement mediated between her and Jeezy and accused the rapper of “cherry-picking” which aspects of the agreement he pursues. She also requested that the court dismiss Jeezy's motion to vacate her mediation agreement, deny her requests to change the agreement, and that the court award her legal fees.
