“It's on us,” says Jarrett Allen, noting that the Cleveland Cavaliers' performance was “unacceptable.”
Making no excuses for the way his team, the Cleveland Cavaliers (Cavs), played on Thursday, Jarrett Allen accepted that his performance was “unacceptable.”
Due to the Cavs' off-court performance, Magic took advantage of the fact that Allen's team was sloppy on both offense and defense, Sports Illustrated reported.
“It's up to us,” Allen said after the game.
“We had 17 turnovers and that's unacceptable for what we're trying to do. Just mental mistakes. It was a lot of just throwing the ball out of bounds. I know I had a couple where I just fumbled the ball, it slipped. We were all making mistakes”.
The Cavaliers suffered 18 turnovers in their game against the Magic. Orlando took advantage of these mistakes, turning them into 28 points that ultimately contributed to their victory. As JA pointed out, many of these turnovers were outlier errors that the Cavs rarely make.
Allen said the opposing team also sped up the game and got physical with the Cavs, making them uncomfortable, which could also be the reason why the Cavaliers made mistakes.
That said, Allen also stated that the loss against the Magic served as a valuable test, contributing to his growth in the remaining 28 games leading up to the playoffs.
