Queen Elizabeth had supposedly been suffering from a massive influx of problems during the final days of her reign and knew “for certain” that she would not live long.
All this has been brought to light by royal biographer Robert Hardman.
He talked about things during one of his new books titled The Making of a King: King Charles III and the Modern Monarchy.
The book, due for release on January 18, talks about the cause of the Queen's death and how she had been “suffering from multiple conditions in her final year”.
According to excerpts from her book, obtained by the Daily Mail, it is revealed: “'She had realized that the medical prognosis meant that she would not emulate her mother and live to be one hundred. [the Queen Mother died at age 101 in 2002]so I was determined to make the most of that year.'”

At that time, “'she made sure to have the whole family over the summer so that the little ones, in particular, would always have good memories of her.'”
For those who don't know, there were talks about a regency, so that King Charles could handle things once his health declined.
Even a former senior aide was quoted on the matter and said: “As the Queen Mother has already turned 100, of course we had to think that the Queen would reach the same age.”
