Liam Payne death: five people charged, including friend

Five people have been charged in connection with the tragic death of Liam Payne in Argentina on October 16.

Liam died after falling from the third-floor balcony of his room at the Casa Sur hotel in Buenos Aires.

Argentine media reports Clarion and Infobae have revealed that five people have been charged with involuntary manslaughter, including Rogelio “Roger” Nores, who claimed to be a friend of the late One Direction singer and was with him on the day of his death.

Other defendants include hotel employees Esteban Grassi, Braian Paiz and Ezequiel Pereyra. The trio have been accused of supplying drugs to the Teardrops hitmaker.

Nores previously shared his memory of the day the singer died, saying: “I'm a very good friend of Liam and I was with him the day he passed away.”

“He (Liam) was in a good mood. It was like talking to 10 or 15 Americans who were here for a wedding. And then he would talk to them and joke around,” he added.

“I went to their hotel three times that day and left 40 minutes before this happened. “There were over 15 people in the hotel lobby chatting and joking with him when I left,” he shared.

Liam Payne's funeral was held in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, in November.
