“They called me and I wasn’t available, so they called my husband and told him the news: she’s gone. The legacy my mother left me is indescribable and the memories certainly outweigh any monetary value. I want to thank everyone for their prayers and kind words. Now is the time to heal and make plans. We already miss Evelyn Thomas. Rest in peace, Mommy.”

The cause of the singer’s death is unknown, but Levine revealed that she was planning to work on an inspirational song she loved called “Inspirational,” but was unable to do so because “her health deteriorated too quickly.” Her daughter plans to record the song in her mother’s place as a tribute to her legacy.
