Dolly Parton announces makeup line inspired by her music

Dolly Parton is working from “9 to 5” with the launch of a new brand.

The 78-year-old country singer is launching her “Dolly Beauty” makeup line, which will include her Heaven's Kiss lipstick collection and each item will be named after one of her hit songs.

Parton poked fun at the brand in an Instagram post on Tuesday, featuring a photo of herself sitting in a makeup chair and holding a tube of lipstick.

“I feel glamorous on the inside so I wanna look glamorous on the outside… something’s coming @dollybeauty,” Parton wrote in the caption.

In an interview with WWD, the “Rockin' Years” singer said the collection will be inclusive and the lipsticks will come in a “layer of many colors.”

“I like to name my products after songs,” Parton told WWD. “It’s important to create things that people who wear makeup can enjoy. You have to have a variety of colors.”

The “Jolene” singer also revealed that her desire to be beautiful inspired her to make “Dolly Beauty.”

“I’ve always said that I never let a rhinestone go,” Parton told WWD. “All my life I’ve wanted to be pretty, like most girls, especially country girls who dream of glamour. I started creating my own makeup at home when I was a kid and have been known to wear makeup, usually too much, for years.”

Prior to her new makeup line, Parton launched a fragrance line called “Scent From Above” in 2021. The singer told WWD that launching her perfume was just the springboard she needed.

“I always wanted to have my own wig line,” Parton said. “But I always loved makeup, and when we created the fragrance, makeup seemed like the next step. Over the years, we’ll create different products with makeup, and eventually we might get into hair care or this or that. Anything to do with beauty — new dreams come up every day.”

“Dolly Beauty” will be launched on August 22 and will be available through the brand’s website.
