Coleman Domingo says the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic will “shock” audiences with its insight into the King of Pop’s life.

Domingo plays Michael's father Joe in the film, and he shared some insight into the movie and praised its lead, Jaafar Jackson, who is Michael's real-life nephew.

“Michael Jackson is without a doubt one of the most prolific artists that has ever existed on this planet,” Domingo told Entertainment Tonight at the BET Awards. “He's a complicated human being and I think what the movie will do is tell the story of a very complicated person.”

“I honestly think people will be surprised by what we're going to do with this movie. It's going to be epic,” he added.

He praised Jaafar’s work in the film and said, “When people see Jaafar Jackson and what he does, they will be stunned. He has a kind of spiritual connection with his late uncle. It’s beautiful.”

The film’s official synopsis states that it will bring to life “their triumphs and tragedies on an epic cinematic scale, from their human side and personal struggles to their undeniable creative genius, exemplified by their most iconic performances.”

“Like never before, audiences will experience an inside look at one of the most influential and pioneering artists the world has ever known,” he added.
