Calvin Harris reveals the reason behind his departure from the DJ

When the Scottish DJ turned 40 last month, he revealed in the interview that he will probably only continue DJing for the next 10 years of his life.

Harris said entering his fourth decade of life “feels good,” however, he wasn't really excited about his milestone birthday.

“I think in the lead-up, you're Googling anti-aging supplements,” Harris said, further announcing, “I always said once I'm over 50, I can't see myself DJing, man.”

While the Grammy-winning musician talked about his age in regards to DJing, host, MistaJam, pointed out renowned British DJ Carl Cox, who remains a prolific artist at the age of 61.

“He's a certain type of DJ,” said Harris, who has headlined festivals around the world, including Coachella. “On the more business side, he becomes a little bit… a little bit suspicious.”

Calvin Harris revealed how he plans to transition his career from DJ to “ghost producer” in the studio, dedicating his time to creating songs.
