Russia kills 5 in Samar of Ukraine, since Putin seems to be ready for new peace talks | Russia-Ukraine War News

The Russian leader indicates a long -term plan to reduce military spending, since his forces compete for the support point in Dnipropetrovsk of Ukraine.

The Russian forces have continued to hit the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine, launching a deadly attack on the industrial city of Samar for the second time in three days.

Friday's missile attack killed five people and wounded another 23 in southeastern Samar, located outside the main city of the region, Dnipro said that regional governor Sergiy Lysak in a telegram post.

At least four of the injured were in a severe state and were taken to the hospital, he added.

The attack followed the missile attacks earlier this week both in DNIPRO and Samar, which killed at least 23, since the Russian forces tried to establish a support point in DNIPROPETROVSK for the first time in more than three years of war.

The authorities did not give immediate details about the damage inflicted to Samar, where an attack against an unidentified infrastructure center on Tuesday killed two people.

Moscow earlier this week claimed to have captured two villages closer to the border of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Separately, the authorities in the northern region of Ukraine of Jharkiv said that the Russian attacks killed a person and wounded three others.

Hundreds of kilometers south, in the Kherson region, the authorities urged residents on Friday to prepare for prolonged periods without energy after a Russian attack reached a key energy installation.

Governor Oleksandr Prokudin said on Telegram that “the Russians decided to immerse the region in the dark.”

The Ukraine Air Force said that Russia had launched 363 long -range drones and eight missiles during the night until Friday, claiming that the aerial defenses arrested all but four of the drones and demolished six cruise missiles.

Meanwhile, Russia's Ministry of Defense said 39 Ukrainian drones were demolished in several regions during the night, including 19 on the Rostov region and 13 on the Volgograd region.

'Find a path' in peace conversations

The continuous attacks against DNIPROPETROVSK occurred when President Vladimir Putin said he intended to reduce military spending and also indicated that he was ready for a new round of peace negotiations with Ukraine.

The Russian president said that his country was ready to reduce the long -term military budget, due to budgetary pressures and the increase in defense spending that promoted inflation.

Speaking to journalists in Minsk, Belarus, on Friday, he alluded to a new round of peace negotiations with Ukraine, potentially in Istanbul, although time and place have not yet been agreed.

He acknowledged that the peace proposals of Russia and Ukraine “are two absolutely contradictory memoranda,” but added: “That is why the negotiations are organizing and carrying out, to find a path to bring them closer.”

Putin added that the negotiators of the two parties were in constant contact and that Russia was ready to return the bodies of 3,000 most Ukrainian soldiers.

He also said that relations between Russia and the United States were beginning to stabilize, attributing the improvement to the efforts of the president of the United States, Donald Trump.

“In general, thanks to President Trump, relations between Russia and the United States are beginning at some way,” Putin said.

Trump suggested that progress can be on the horizon with respect to the Russian war in Ukraine.

“We are working on that,” Trump told the White House journalists. “President Putin called and he said: I would love to help you with Iran. I told him, do me a favor: I will take care of Iran. Help me with Russia. We have to solve that. And I think something is going to happen there.”
