I live in a house full of speakers, but there are some places they just can't be connected – the steam from my shower would kill them, and the mess I make when cooking curry has created some pretty hideous patterns on my light-coloured HomePods mini. So it's nice to see Majority coming to the rescue with a portable audio player that you can spray with your choice of liquids.
The new Majority Eversden is a nice-looking and very affordable DAB+ radio (a perfect fit for our best DAB radios buying guide, if the sound is any good), a Bluetooth speaker (so it would be a novel inclusion in our roundup of the best Bluetooth speakers) and an FM radio with IPX5 water resistance.
That means it's able to withstand not just the occasional splash, but actual jets of water, so you can hang it in the shower for a morning sing-along. And it has no fabric rack to get dirty, so it's a good choice for the kitchen, too.
Majority Eversden DAB+ Radio: Price, Specs and Availability
Specs-wise, it features Bluetooth 5.0 with up to 15 hours of battery life, DAB/DAB+ reception from 174-240MHz, and FM reception from 87.5-108MHz. There’s a dual alarm and sleep timer, as well as a headphone jack for listening to music at night. Dimensions are 5.3cm long x 13.8cm wide x 15.9cm high – that small size means there’s only room for a single mono speaker.
As with other Majority products (check out our recent review of the Majority MP3 player for a great hit there), there's a generous three-year warranty period rather than the more common one year, and Majority contributes to its Majority Forest tree-planting program with every unit purchased.
The Majority Eversden is now available in the UK and Europe priced at £59.95/€54.95. At the time of writing, Amazon UK is also offering a 10% off coupon. Sadly, the Eversden isn’t currently available in the US or Australia, but that price, if it ever comes to those regions, would be around $76/AUD116, give or take a few bucks.
