- Sony's Wh-000xm6 headphones are launched on May 15
- Almost all the details have already leaked
- Wait for deliveries to begin in June
Sony's next emblematic headphones, the Sony Wh-000xm6, will be launched on May 15. Sony Australia shared a teaser for the launch in her Instagram account without details that are not the date and time: for the Australians are 2 in the morning of May 16.
Because Australia is many time areas ahead, one day after everyone else: for the west countries, they are 9 am PDT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST on Thursday, May 15. We hope that shipping begins in June 2025.
Almost all the details have already leaked a key detail: international prices. We know the price of the Spanish market courtesy of a Amazon escape on its Spanish website, but the details of the US prices and the United Kingdom have not been shared in a similar way, although we can guess quite a lot about what those prices will be.
Here is the teaser, followed by six things to wait for the launch event Wh-000xm6 next week.
6 things to wait for the Sony Wh-1000xm6 (based on rumors)
1. A small price increase
Amazon's leak included a price for Spanish buyers of € 470, including taxes; No taxes that work as € 439.
That is approximately $ 499 / £ 439 / AU $ 770, which sounds correct: rumors suggested that we would see a price increase for Sony's 2025 model. The current model was launched at $ 399 / £ 380 / AU $ 649.
2. The hinge has returned! Back! BACK!
The recently leaked images in Walkman show the redesign, which includes redesigned headphones, a thick and folding hinge and a broader headband.
That is good, because one of the key criticisms of the current model is what some users have found as a rather weak construction.
3. Even a better noise cancellation
The Amazon filtered specification highlighted a new HD noise cancellation processor, called QN3. According to the reports, the QN3 is seven times faster than the QN1 that is in the current WH-1000xm5.
That is accompanied by 12 microphones, multi -noise sensor technology and an automatic noise cancellation optimizer; Together, that should mean an improvement in Sony's excellent noise cancellation.
4. Improved audio processing
The integrated V1 processor in the XM5S included the QN1 processor, so an updated version of that processor should also mean a better sound.
Sony filtered marketing materials say that WH-000xm6 has Hi-RES audio, Dsee Extreme, LDAC, Adaptive Sound Control, Personalized Space Audio and 360 Reality Audio with head of the head.
5. Small and rigid conductors
One of the surprises in the XM5 was that Sony moved to smaller controllers than those of the XM4, the size of 25% to 30 mm falling. The drivers this time also have 30 mm.
As we said in our Sony Wh-000xm5 review, smaller does not mean worse: the 30 mm controller “uses a high rigidity dome and a soft edge to remove the bite from the highest sounds.”
We find that the XM5 sounds better than the XM4 (although there is not much in it, so if you see that the XM4 are really cheap, then do it).
6. A better case
Walkman's blog reports that the case has been redesigned: the zipper has gone, replaced by a magnetic closure, and there is a small pocket for its 3.5 mm and USB cables.
Some XM5 owners have been publishing in Reddit about the zipper of their cases (above) that fails, so this can be a reaction to that; Hopefully Magnet is as strong as that of the strange Airpods Max of Apple box.
Of course, we will follow the launch event and update it with all the confirmed details and the price in your area as well.
