Silent Hill 2The latest trailer confirms that the survival horror remake will have a one-year exclusivity on the PS5 console.
As spotted by Eurogamer, Bloober Team's long-awaited remake of Konami's 2001 classic is set to release on October 8. It was previously known that Silent Hill 2 It would be a PS5 console exclusive, but it was unclear whether it would be a permanent feature or not.
So far, at least, thanks to the Silent Hill 2 Trailer for 'Immersion' that appeared on the official PlayStation channel on YouTube. The minute-long trailer shows some of the Silent Hill 2 Stunning environments and features, such as 4K visuals and immersive haptic feedback via the DualSense wireless controller. There will also be PlayStation 3D audio support and a dynamic light bar that keeps a colour-coded record of protagonist James Sunderland’s health.

However, the PlayStation 5 splash screen at the end of the trailer reveals that Silent Hill 2 will not be “available in other formats until 10.08.2025”. That is, October 8, 2025, exactly one year after the game's release.
While Silent Hill 2 will be available on PC on day one, this essentially means it won't be coming to Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S (or potentially even the Nintendo Switch 2) until at least late 2025. And even then, we still recommend checking out the game on PS5 if you can so you can take full advantage of those custom DualSense features like adaptive triggers and haptic feedback support.
If you're curious, our own Dashiell Wood had the chance to interview developer Bloober Team about the Silent Hill 2 remake, saying: “We want to reimagine the original game and put our own Bloober spin on it.”
