I admit that I had never heard of Kleva Range until recently when a colleague mentioned the brand. I was surprised by the sheer volume of items available from Kleva, but my attention was drawn to their most reviewed and highest-rated product: their self-draining stick vacuum.
The Kleva Krapof Auto Clean Self Vacuum Slim Power Vac is both a mouthful and a rather ironic name, but just looking at the comments on Product Review (Australia's leading consumer review site) for this vacuum makes me want to try it myself.
Now, to be fair, a good number of those reviews are incentivized, but I've seen plenty of other 5-star reviews that appear to be from genuine buyers. They describe it as “excellent” and affirm that “it took [them] by surprise.” The biggest complaint was how lightweight the Krapof Auto Clean Slim Vac actually is, followed by the convenience of emptying automatically.
For me, it was the spec sheet that did it. Kleva lists its suction power at 450AW, which beats the 400AW of the Samsung Bespoke Jet Ultra Elite, and even Dyson's most powerful V16 Piston Animal falls well short at 315AW. However, I would recommend taking the high suction power claim with a pinch of salt, as overall performance depends on the airflow through the machine which, in turn, depends on the design of the vacuum cleaner and, in particular, its head.
Its specifications also list the weight of the stick vacuum cleaner at an impressive 2.4kg with the stick and floor head attached. By comparison, most of today's cordless vacuum cleaners weigh over 3kg, including the self-emptying Dreame Z50 Station.
All of the above-mentioned cordless vacuum cleaners are premium-priced models and cost well over AU$1,000. The Kleva, however, costs just AU$649. If accurate, the price and weight difference alone is something that makes it a clear leader in its class and, based on user reviews, it is surely worth considering if you are looking for a new vacuum cleaner.
Users have noticed that Krapof Auto Clean requires you to press a button to activate the self-emptying process, something that usually happens automatically the moment the wand is replaced into the base in other similar vacuums. However, at this price, that's not a complaint.
I'm looking forward to putting that 450 AW of suction to the test. We've asked Kleva for a review unit, so stay tuned for our verdict on whether Krapof Auto Clean lives up to its promises.
