Sharp has announced two new 27-inch monitors that could easily be contenders for the best monitors for working from home thanks to a host of useful features, including a docking hub.
As mentioned, the Sharp MultiSync EA272Q and Sharp MultiSync EA272U are both 27 inches and have a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and 3840 x 2160 respectively, making the EA272U the higher-end of the two.
If one screen isn't enough, Sharp says users can use the DisplayPort daisy chain feature to have multiple displays side-by-side for maximum productivity. The small bezel design also makes for an even smoother experience.
Come for the king
The company says both monitors have 90W USB Type-C connectivity and built-in LAN, meaning they can be used as a docking hub for laptops and other devices via a single cable.
The EA272Q and EA272U’s stands – one of the most important components of any office setup – can be adjusted in height by up to 150 mm. They also feature flicker-free and low blue light technology, and the monitors are available in black or white.
The bottom line for anyone looking for the best monitor, whether for working in an office or from home, is that you need to move past the current incumbent, and in our tests that company is Dell.
The Dell UltraSharp U2518D monitor is our top pick for working from home thanks to its excellent ergonomics, USB hub, daisy chain capability, and 2K display. The Dell P3222QE 32” 4K Hub Monitor was also one of our top picks for productivity, as it features a gorgeous 31.5-inch 4K display, plus all the essential features.
We don’t yet have pricing details for Sharp’s EA272Q and EA272U models, and both will be available through resellers rather than from Sharp itself as usual. The EA272U is expected to launch in October 2024, and the EA272Q is available now.
“Maximum screen real estate and minimum cable clutter – that’s the vision we had in mind for the first two Sharp branded desktop monitors,” says Sharp’s Alistair Round. “The new desktop displays enhance productivity through frictionless workflows, support the use of low-power technology and offer ergonomic comfort – all while impressing with richly detailed displays.”
