The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 could be just a few months away, with leaks suggesting July 10 will be its unveiling day, and it looks set to be Samsung's most high-tech phone yet.
So this will probably be the company's most expensive phone of the year, unless we also get a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra; so I hope you've been saving. But it should be worth it, with two large screens, a powerful chipset and possibly up to 16GB of RAM included.
We still don't know anything for sure about the Galaxy Z Fold 6, but leaks and rumors have revealed many of the likely specifications, and we can make some guesses about most of the others. Below you will find the full specifications expected for the phone.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 expected specifications
The chart below contains all the key specs we think are most likely for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6.
This is mostly based on leaks, and when there is conflicting information, we list multiple possibilities or go with the most credible one or the claim we've heard most frequently. There are also some educated guesses, based on the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Specs (Rumored) | |
---|---|
Folding screen: | 7.6-inch 120Hz 1812 x 2176+ AMOLED display |
Cover Screen: | 6.2-6.4 inch AMOLED display, 120Hz, 904 x 2316+ |
OS: | Android 14 |
Chipset: | Snapdragon 8 Generation 3 |

Frontal camera: | 10 megapixel, 4 megapixel |
RAM: | 16 GB |
Storage: | 256GB/512GB/1TB |
Battery: | 4,400 mAh |
So, as you can see, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 will likely have a 7.6-inch 120Hz foldable AMOLED display. Those are the same specs as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, but the Z Fold 6 could at least have one. 2600 nits brighter screen. The Galaxy Z Fold 6's foldable display could also have a higher resolution than the Galaxy Z Fold 5's at 1812 x 2176, although we're not sure what the exact resolution would be.
As for the cover screen, there is no agreement on what size it will be: one source says it will have a 6.2-inch cover screen like the Galaxy Z Fold 5, another says the cover screen of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 It will be 6.4 inches and another says that the Galaxy Z Fold 6's cover screen will be 6.4 inches. one dividing the difference by 6.3 inches.
Whether it's bigger or not, it could get some upgrades, with one source claiming the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6's cover screen could feature anti-reflective technology, and another pointing to the use of Corning Gorilla Armor, which would make it more durable than the his predecessor. show.
Based on the previous shape, we'd also expect it to be an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of at least 904 x 2316, although if it gets larger the resolution could increase as well.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6's chipset will almost certainly be a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the same one you'll find in the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra among many other phones, and is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Z fold 5.
So not only is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 the obvious choice, but it's also something that numerous leaks have pointed out.
We've also heard from multiple sources that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 could have up to 16GB of RAM. That's more than the 12GB of the Z Fold 5. So between that and the expected chipset upgrade, this could be a substantially more powerful phone.
Although it is based on one of the first benchmark tests of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 (which also mentions a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and Android 14), there will apparently also be a version with 12 GB of RAM.
However, leaks suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 6's storage will be the same as the current model, i.e. 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB configurations.
The cameras could be the weak link between the Z Fold 6 specifications, because most sources claim that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 will have the same cameras as the Z Fold 5.
On the back, that would mean a 50MP f/1.8 main camera, a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle (with a 123-degree field of view), and a 10MP f/2.4 telephoto lens, which offers an optical zoom of 3x. On the front, that would mean a 10MP f/2.2 selfie camera, while the foldable display would have a 4MP f/1.8 under-screen camera.
That said, one source said that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 could instead inherit one of the Galaxy S24 Ultra's cameras, while another said that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 could have an improved under-display camera. So some improvements are possible, but as most sources point to no changes being made to the camera hardware, we suspect this is one area that won't be updated.
Finally, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 could have a 4,600 mAh battery, according to a source. But others say that the Z Fold 6 will have a 4400 mAh battery, just like the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
We've heard this last claim from multiple sources, so we'd say it's more likely, and the same sources also claim that it will charge at 25W, just like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Of course, some or all of this could be wrong, and we won't know for sure until the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is unveiled, which will likely happen on July 10.
