It looks like the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is already imminent, and thanks to a filing with the US FCC (Federal Communications Commission) regulatory body, we may now have our first proper look at the upcoming mid-range model.
According to MySmartPrice, the Galaxy S24 FE appears to have passed FCC inspection, part of the standard process for devices going on sale in the US. The phone has also been previously spotted at regulators' facilities in India.
Read our Samsung Galaxy S23 FE review and you'll see that these mid-range 'Fan Edition' versions of the flagships are still worth considering as smartphone upgrades, offering decent specs at a decent price.
And Samsung clearly thinks it's worth unleashing a Galaxy S24 FE phone on the world. You may remember that there was no FE version of the Samsung Galaxy S22, which was released in 2022, but it looks like the series is back.
What to expect
The photos included in the filing don't tell us much about the phone, but associated documents indicate its dimensions are 162mm x 77.3mm; for comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S24 measures 147mm x 70.6mm.
The phone is said to be powered by the Exynos 2400 chipset and, as expected, will support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and 5G. Reverse wireless charging technology, up to 9W, is also mentioned in the documentation.
Based on the leaked renders we've already seen, it looks like this phone will follow the design cues of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus, though the build won't be quite as premium (and will cost less as a result).
Since support documents for the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE have already started appearing on Samsung's websites, we shouldn't have to wait much longer for the official unveiling, and we'll of course keep you posted.
